Like a Pasty, but a Triangle
Pasties and most empanadas are half-moons. Ours is a triangle.
- Pasty
- Cornish miners brought it to the Upper Peninsula. A big half-moon, baked, traditionally filled with beef, potato, onion and rutabaga.
- Empanada
- Often a half-moon, baked or fried. Found across Latin America and Spain.
- Ours
- A triangle, baked, not fried. Right now we're testing fillings like beef, spinach, Philly cheesesteak and Buffalo chicken.
We grew up on takratha, the Chaldean hand pie our grandma made. Doughbry's is our version.
